Outbound Bot: How to trigger?

“Outbound bot” is a bot that reaches out to a set of people defined by the user with a cadence sequence of messages across SMS and WhatsApp. And when a person responds to any one of these messages, the inbound bot associated with that configuration will be triggered.

Outbound bots can right now be triggered in one way i.e. “Subscribes to a list”.

List is nothing but a group of contacts present in your account. Contacts can be added to your account in three ways,

  • * Inbound chatbots – Visitors while speaking with the bot can give in their contact details, effectively creating a contact
  • * CSV Upload – User can upload a list of contacts through a CSV file
  • * API – Users can use i-genie API and invoke them to send contacts to our systems

While uploading your contacts through either of the above-mentioned methods, you will be asked to add them to a List.

A contact can be part of multiple lists.

And when a contact subscribes to a list (meaning gets added to a list), the outbound bot in which that list is defined as a trigger will start executing. Here too, you can have multiple outbound bots getting triggered when a contact gets added to more than one list.
