Action Block: Send WhatsApp

The ‘Send WhatsApp’ is only available on outbound bots 


Using the “Send WhatsApp” action block you can,


  • * Send birthday reminders
  • * Promotional messages to a group of prospects/customers etc.
  • * Feedback surveys
  • * Appointment booking confirmation
  • * and a whole lot more…


How do use this action block? 


Step 1: Add action block on canvas by clicking on ‘+’ 

Step 2: Choose Send WhatsApp



Step 3: Configure it on right panel


Click on ‘Send WhatsApp’ action block to open the configuration panel on the right side of the screen. You will have to configure following to use the ‘Send WhatsApp’ action block


Configure WhatsApp Number: 


Choose the configured WhatsApp number from which the WhatsApp message will be sent


If you find the dropdown empty, it means that you have not configured a WhatsApp Business API on i-genie


To enable this, head over to Channel Configuration > WhatsApp and configure your WhatsApp Business API

Choose the ‘To’ field which contain the visitor’s contact number:


This dropdown list which show you all the variables that are available in your account. Choose the variable which contains the phone number of the people you want to reach out to


Choose template:


Choose a ‘Template message’ from the list (You can also create a new template message by clicking on the ‘Create template’ button) 


You will see all the approved template messages that have been created by you. 


To create a template message, visit Channel Configuration > WhatsApp > Template Message


Double check all the variables that you used in the template message to see if they are defined in the outbound bot. Otherwise, your variables will be replaced with whitespace
