Action Block: Form

We all have experienced a form at least once in our lifetimes and as pain-staking, as it is in filling it, it is the easiest way of collecting multiple inputs from your visitors.


In scenarios, where you looking to collect multiple inputs like name, email, and phone to confirm the appointment, rather than making the conversation lengthy by using multiple Collect Input blocks to collect each value, one can make use of Form that collects everything at once.


When should you use this? 

  • * you are collecting multiple inputs
  • * want to keep the chat short and quick
  • * reduce the number of to and fros


How do I set it up? 


Step 1: Add the block on canvas by clicking on ‘+’

Step 2: Choose Form

Step 3: Configure the message on right panel


The message configured here will be sent to the visitors when Form Action Block is triggered along with the form fields


Step 4: Add fields to capture individual input


Click on the field to configure it. Following can be configured; 


4.1 Name: 

Enter the name of the field. This is what the visitors will see


4.2 Validation Method: 

Select the validation method i.e text, name, email, phone & custom


4.3 Define Variable: 

Give a name to the variable in which the answers to this field will be stored


Step 5: Add multiple fields (repeating Step 4) 

You can have a maximum of 5 fields

You can have some fields as ‘optional’, so the visitor can still move ahead in the conversation if it is not filled
